WHY IS THE METAVERSE STILL KEEPIN’IT REAL?

I am Not Keepin’it Real, a designer with a background in both Interior architecture and metaverse 3D architecture, I have no doubt noticed the unique qualities of each field. From the use of gravity and other physical laws to the materials and techniques employed, the differences between these two types of architecture can be quite striking. In this article, we will delve into the contrast between physical structural architecture and metaverse 3D architecture, focusing on the role of gravity and design considerations in each field. Whether you are an experienced architect looking to explore new horizons, or simply curious about the differences between these two fields, this article will provide a thought-provoking and informative look at the world of architecture.

In physical architecture, the laws of gravity are an important consideration in the design and construction of buildings. Structures must be designed to withstand the weight of the materials used and the forces exerted on them by wind, earthquakes, and other natural phenomena. This often requires the use of specialized materials and construction techniques to ensure the stability and safety of the building.

In contrast, the laws of gravity in the metaverse are more flexible and can be manipulated or ignored entirely. In a virtual world, designers have the ability to create structures and environments that would be impossible or impractical in the physical world. This includes buildings that defy gravity, floating structures, and other imaginary designs.

While this freedom can be exciting and allows for endless creativity, it also introduces new challenges for metaverse architects. Since the laws of physics are not as strict in the virtual world, designers must consider other factors such as user immersion, interactions, user experience, and the overall functionality of the space.

As you move from physical architecture to metaverse 3D architecture, you may find that your approach to design shifts as well. In the physical world, you may have been used to working with more tangible materials and constraints, but in the metaverse, you will have to rely more on your imagination and technical skills to create immersive and engaging virtual spaces.

If you have started playing around in the metaverse that currently exist, you may have noticed that the metaverse often resembles the real world in many ways, even though the laws of physics do not apply necessarily. This can be puzzling, as it seems that in a virtual world where anything is possible, designers would take full advantage of the freedom to create truly otherworldly environments. However, there are a few reasons why the metaverse often resembles the real world, despite the lack of physical constraints:

One reason is that many people find familiar, real-world environments to be more comfortable and easier to navigate. In the metaverse, designers often aim to create immersive and believable spaces that allow users to feel like they are truly in another place. This can be more difficult to achieve if the environment is too unfamiliar or science-fictional.

Another reason is that many metaverse experiences are designed to be used for practical purposes, such as work, education, or socializing. In these cases, it may be more effective to use real-world designs and layouts, as they are more intuitive and familiar to most users.

Finally, it is important to remember that the metaverse is a constantly evolving and changing place. While some designers may choose to create more realistic environments, others may push the boundaries and create truly unreal spaces. As the metaverse continues to grow and evolve, it is likely that we will see a wider range of virtual environments and designs that defy the constraints of the physical world.

At Not keepin’it Real, we try to play with the best of these two worlds. Keeping that warm human feeling we experience in our familiar places, with a twist of magic and fantasy.
